The most current signature scent from Hugo Boss. Not to be muddled up with ‘Boss Number One’. Before presenting Boss Bottled Intense, Boss Number One was simply referred to as ‘Boss’. Well, that could be considered confusing, indeed!
To make things slightly more complicated, Boss Bottled Intense is also often referred to as ‘Grey Boss’ and ‘Hugo Boss no 6.’
So what of the fragrance itself?
Top notes consist of Apple, Bergamot, Cinnamon. The heart notes of Tagete, Geranium, Clove and the base notes of Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Olivewood.
All of the individual notes in Boss Bottled are like prudently but irregularly applied water colour transparent paints over an already transparent flawless sky background. Bos Bottled should not be regarded as a particularly perfumed blend but is an atmosphere of slim hints of pepper, clove, cinnamon and apple that are difficult to discern without the aforementioned lists of notes. These unconvincing hints range over a slender backdrop of cedar with traces of sandalwood and vetiver.
Hugo Boss Bottled is undoubtedly a distinctive scent. I might describe Hugo Boss Bottled as more context than content and as such has a broad frame of reference that ‘s hard to explain. The preliminary impression is it is all synthetic ketone fragrance with little touches of bitter flavours added in randomly. However I do very much care for this kind of scent, and it is an excellent collection addition to other transparent woody fragrances. A very pleasant background scent.
